Synopsis
“Jeong-Nyeon: The Star is Born” Korean drama tells the story of a talented young girl living in Mokpo, Yoon Jung Nyeon from 1956 (post-war Korea). She has excellent singing skills but has no money or education to fulfill her dreams.
One day, Yoon Jung Nyeon sees a performance by the Maeran Women’s Gukguek Theater Company, led by Director Kang So Bok, while they are visiting Mokpo. Inspired by the show, she decides to follow her dream of singing and ultimately becoming rich and successful. She sneaks into the luggage compartment of the theater company and ends up in Seoul as a trainee. There, she meets Heo Young Seo, another trainee who is great at singing, dancing, and acting. As they both try to succeed, they become rivals.
