A few days ago South Korean renowned TV network tvN unveiled it’s upcoming kdrama “Potato Research Institute” and Kang Tae Oh (Extraordinary Attorney Woo) was revealed as its potential male lead.
Reuniting writer Kim Ho Soo and director Kang Il Soo from the hit series “Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung,” the drama is a quirky romantic comedy that will narrate the story of a young couple, in a potato research institute which is situated in a valley of mountains.
The young couple includes Kim Mi Kyung, a lady with 12 years of experience in the Potato Research Institute who looks unemployed, but is highly intelligent and skillful in her work. She has vowed to never be in a relationship, until the arrival of Baek Bo.
Baek Bo is a newly appointed director at the Potato Research Institute. Initially, they clashed often, but eventually, she grew fond of him, and they end up falling in love and starts their in-office relationship.
Kang Tae Oh who was recently discharged from the military, will play the role of So Baek Ho if confirmed. Previously the actor has stolen the hearts of fans with his performance in the 2022 hit drama “Extraordinary Attorney Woo.” In “Potato Research Institute” he’ll be portrayed as a person with a killer smile, a soft voice, and heavenly images that make him look like the cover hero of any romance novel. But Baek Ho is also an outsider who hardly has any friends or a social life.
While not much has been unveiled about the series, “Potato Research Institute” is anticipated to premiere in 2025. (By Nishima Saini)
