“Mom’s Friend’s Son” is an upcoming tvN original Korean drama series that stars Jung So Min and Jung Hae In in the main cast and the full starcast including the supporting cast has been confirmed on March 13. This highly anticipated series reunites the director Yoo Je Won and writer Shin Ha Eun who previously worked together for the hit drama “Hometown Cha Cha Cha” that aired in 2021.
Kdrama “Mom’s Friend’s Son” will tell the story of Bae Seok Ryu (Jung So Min), a woman who once had it all together. Known for her smarts and boundless energy, she climbed the ladder of success as a project manager in a big global company. However, one day, everything changed. Bae Seok Ryu faced a breakdown, leading her to leave her job and confront a challenging period of unemployment.
Yearning for a fresh start, Bae Seok Ryu’s journey takes an unexpected turn when she crosses paths with Choi Seung Hyo (Jung Hae In), her mother’s friend’s son. He’s the most talked-about young architect in Korea, running the renowned architecture atelier “In.” With his impressive skills, good looks, and a charming personality, Choi Seung Hyo seems to have it all.
However, beneath the surface, Choi Seung Hyo harbors moments from his past that he wishes to erase, moments often involving Bae Seok Ryu. As childhood friends linked by their mothers’ friendship, they shared innocent memories, like bathing together at a women’s bathhouse. As adults, their lives take unexpected turns, and their paths converge once more.
The main cast is led by Jung So Min and Jung Hae In alongwith Kim Ji Eun and Yun Ji On. The other cast lineup includes Park Ji Young, Jo Han Chul, Jang Young Nam, Lee Seung Joon, Jun Suk Ho, Kim Geum Soon, Han Ye Ju, Lee Seung Hyub, Shim So Young.
Kim Ji Eun will play the role of Jeom Eum, a 119 paramedic who’s a hero saving people’s lives. Yun Ji On will portray the role of Dan Ho Kang, a field reporter.
Actress Park Ji Young will be playing the role of Na Mi Sook, Bae Seok Ryu’s mother. Jo Han Chul will be playing the role of Bae Geun Sik, Bae Seok Ryu’s father. Jang Young Nam will play the role of Choi Seung Hyo’s mother and Lee Seung Joon will play the role of Choi Seung Hyo’s father.
“Mom’s Friend’s Son” is a 12 episode series that is scheduled to air sometimes in 2024. (- By Nishima Saini)
