Earlier, Park Jung Min (Hellbound) and BLACKPINK’s Kim Jisoo (Snowdrop) were in talks for the upcoming zombie thriller Kdrama called “Influenza” (tentative title).
Now the offers are out to Kim Jun Han (Anna) for the same. Currently, all three are considering to star in the drama, when confirmed they will be the main cast of the new series “Influenza.”
The zombie thriller romance dram has some impressive talent behind it, the writer of the Oscar-winning masterpiece “Parasite.”
“Influenza” will tell the story of Jae Yoon and Young Joo who reunites during a zombie outbreak after break up. Jae Yoon enlisted in the military at the age of 26, after unsuccessfully attempting to secure an alternative job in the defense industry. Presently, he serves in the high-rise air defense unit in Seoul. Despite having a girlfriend, he sends her a breakup notice during his military service. His girlfriend, Young Joo, has recently entered the workforce. Upon receiving the breakup message from her boyfriend, she decides to visit him. However, they soon find themselves amidst a zombie outbreak, which ultimately brings them closer as they join forces to survive and emerge as strong individuals during this urgent situation.
If confirmed BLACKPINK’s Jisoo will take the role Young Joo while Park Jung Min that of Young Joo’s boyfriend, Jae Yoon.
Meanwhile, Kim Jun Han plays Private Ra In Ho, a resourceful junior to Lee Jae Yoon’s character in a zombie apocalypse. Ra In Ho’s smart thinking and diverse knowledge help increase his squad’s survival time by developing innovative solutions and survival techniques.
“Influenza” is a COUPANG TV original and is yet to disclose the releasing date of the drama.
