“Inspector Joy” is the upcoming historical tvN drama centered around a lazy secret royal inspector Ra Yi Eon (Ok Taecyeon) and a confident woman Kim Jo Yi (Kim Hye Yoon) who wants to divorce her husband.

tvN’s new historical drama “Inspector Joy” is set in the Joseon era. Its story revolves around a young gourmand named Ra Yi Eon. He accidentally passes the civil servant state examination because of his high intelligence. He then gets recruited as a secret royal inspector against his will.
Ra Yi Eon’s job is to go undercover and expose corruption. He is lazy but sharp minded. He wanted to live a simple life selling dumplings all day without caring much about the future. Still, he ends up becoming a secret royal inspector.
Ok Taecyeon who will be playing the role of Ra Yi Eon last starred in Netflix’s popular series “Vincenzo”. He played the role of a cruel and psycho villain, Jang Joon-woo. The singer-actor amazed everyone with his excellent acting skills in the series.
Meanwhile, a passionate woman, Kim Jo Yi who has a modern way of thinking, wants to divorce her gambling addict husband. Kim Jo Yi is a strong woman who wants to get rid of her husband. So that she can start a new and fresh life.
Actress Kim Hye Yoon who is playing the role of Kim Jo Yi, last starred in drama “Extraordinary You”. She played the role of a rich daughter Run Dan-oh, a school student who lives in a fantasy world.
When their characters team up together, it’ll be interesting to see how things will work for both of them. Will they be able to find the happiness in each other that they are looking for? Fans are already excited to see Kim Hye Yoon and Ok Taecyeon together onscreen.
The drama is directed by Yoo Jong-sun, better known for his work in series like “Designated Survivor: 60 Days” (2018), “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim” (2018) and the most famous 2016 series “Descendants Of The Sun”. The historical series will be written by Lee Jae Yoon, known for his drama “The Undateables”.
“Inspector Joy” is scheduled to air sometimes in November (Monday – Tuesday 9 PM KST) on tvN and streaming platform Viki.
