Actress Kim Go Eun has confirmed for her next drama project after “The King : Eternal Monarch”. She will be starring in a webtoon adaption drama “Yumi’s Cells”. The male lead offer for the same is also out to actor Ahn Bo Hyun. However, he is still considering starring.
“Yumi’s Cells” tells the story of a 32-year-old office employee Yumi Kim. Her brain is quite an imaginative space where her emotions are represented by cells. Her cells try to make her happy at all cost even if it means not taking the risk of confessing to your crush. For this reason Yumi remained single. Until one day her blind date with Goo Woong results into a relationship. Goo Woong is a bit nerdy guy who likes video games so much that he has a game studio of his own. However, her love life didn’t go simple as she gets stuck in a love triangle and her brain cells constantly trying to make her happy.
Kim Go Eun who earlier starred in Kdrama “The King : Eternal Monarch” has already confirmed for the title role of Yumi Kim. The actress said that she is excited to take on a relatable and funny role.
Ahn Bo Hyun who earlier starred in Kdrama “Kairos” is considered for the male lead role of Goo Woong. He is likely to be the love interest of Kim Go Eun’s character Yumi Kim.
According to the webtoon “Yumi’s Cells” is the story of Yumi and her brain cells. It is a popular webtoon written by Lee Dong Geon. The webtoon also has a scene where the writer drew a character exactly like K-pop group EXO’s Chanyeol and also his puppy Toben.
In fact, Chanyeol even shared the drawing on his Instagram. So could we expect Chanyeol’s cameo appearance in the Yumi Cells? Well! Time will tell, but we hope it’s true. You can find the original webtoon here.

Meanwhile, the drama will come from the director and writer of some hit Korean dramas like “Familiar Wife” and “Shopping King Louie”, “Memories of the Alhambra” and more. It will be a mixture of live action and CGI.
The fantasy romance comedy drama “Yumi’s Cells” is expected to release in the first half of 2021.
