We have a new fantasy romance drama releasing tomorrow on May 26th “My Roommate Is A Gumiho”. The drama will star Lee Hye Ri, Jang Ki Yong, Kang Han Na, Kim Do Wan and Bae In Hyuk in the main cast.
“My Roommate Is A Gumiho” tells a sweet fantasy romance story between a Gumiho and a human. Shin Woo Yoo is a Gumiho who is preparing to soon become a human. He is also a professor and is 999 years old. He is collecting the human energy inside a bead, which will later help him become a human.
Meanwhile, Lee Dam, a university student had an unfortunate encounter with Shin Woo Yeo due to her friend. Shin Woo Yeo’s precious beads falls in the mouth of Lee Dam. This is dangerous because if the bead breaks inside her body, she could die. Woo Yeo suggests her to live with him until he finds a way to take the bead back.
The drama is based on a popular webtoon “Gan Ddeoreojineun Donggeo” by Na. You can find the English version of the “My Roommate Is A Gumiho” webtoon here. It will be releasing a total of 16 episodes.
According to the webtoon the story goes like this. A (handsome) old Gumiho who has been trying to become a human for 900 years, but was deprived of a fox ball by a female college student in an accident.
The elderly proposes to live with her to resolve the situation..
The English Version Reads The Storyline As
Under normal circumstances, 24-year-old Dam Lee wouldn’t move in with a random guy who she just met, much less a 900-year-old one. But these aren’t normal circumstances: she accidentally swallowed the bead of a gumiho (a nine-tailed fox from Korean mythology) named Wuyeo Shin, and if they don’t find a way to extract the bead from her body within a year, she’ll die, and he’ll never become human.
Can Dam and Wuyeo find a way to remove the bead from Dam’s body before it’s too late? And will Dam ever find love, especially when her unusual circumstances restrict her dating options?
