Exciting news for K-drama fans! Gong Yoo (The Silent Sea) and Song Hye Kyo (The Glory) may be teaming up for a new drama.
Currently, both are offered for the lead roles and are positively considering to star in the drama. The name of the drama is yet to be announced.
This potential drama is a modern historical story that will showcase the lives of people in the broadcasting industry. It will highlight the passion of those who experienced the birth of South Korea’s entertainment industry during a turbulent historical period from 1950s to 1980s.
No Hee Kyung, known for hit dramas like “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” “Dear My Friends,” and “Our Blues,” has worked with Song Hye Kyo before in the dramas “Worlds Within” (2008) and “That Winter, The Wind Blows” (2013). Adding to the excitement, the drama will be directed by Lee Yoon Jung, who is known for her successful works like “Coffee Prince,” “Cheese in the Trap,” and “The Lies Within.”
Gong Yoo will be reuniting with the “Coffee Prince” director if confirmed.
The drama’s budget is expected to have a total of more than 80 billion won.
