A new Korean crime-action drama is on the horizon, starring Ji Chang Wook, Wi Ha Joon, Im Se Mi and more.
The show’s first trailer is out, and it’s set to premiere on Disney+ this September.
The story is about investigating a drug trafficking ring that operated between Korea, Japan, and China in the 1990s. The investigation takes place in Seoul and follows police officers Kang Joon Mo (Ji Chang Wook) and Yoo Eui Jung (Im Se Mi) as they work undercover to catch the rising mafia boss Jung Gi Cheol (Wi Ha Joon). Interestingly, Kang Joon Mo and Yoo Eui Jung are not only partners in the mission but also a married couple.
The trailer starts with Ji Chang Wook seated alongside Wi Ha Joon’s gang. He asks if someone is Jung Gi Cheol. Then there’s a fight scene where Ji Chang Wook impresses Wi Ha Joon and gets invited to join the gang. Ji Chang Wook looks happy as it’s part of his undercover mission. We meet more characters, and someone advises Ji Chang Wook to stay on the right side.
But the mission gets tougher, and Ji Chang Wook looks tired. Towards the end, Wi Ha Joon’s character, the gang leader, seems unsure about trusting Ji Chang Wook. The trailer makes us wonder if Ji Chang Wook will succeed in his risky mission against the drug mafia.
Korean drama “The Worst of Evil” is slated to air on September 27 only on Disney+.
