Upcoming Korean drama “Vigilante” starring Nam Joo Hyuk, Yoo Ji Tae, Lee Joon Hyuk, and Kim So Jin has released first trailer.
The webtoon based drama “Vigilante” will narrate the tale of Kim Ji Yong (Nam Joo Hyuk), a college police student. In his childhood, his mother fell victim to a gangster’s brutal murder. As Kim Yong grows up, he discovers that the gangster responsible for his mother’s death served only three years in jail for the heinous crime and is now free. This revelation compels him to adopt the role of a Vigilante (a person who tries in an unofficial way to prevent crime), taking it upon himself to deliver justice to criminals whom the law has failed to punish adequately.
Soon, he becomes a famous dark hero named ‘Vigilante.’ Jo Kang Ok (Lee Joon Hyuk), who really admires Vigilante, decides to help him. Additionally, police leader Jo Heon (Yoo Ji Tae) begins his pursuit of ‘Vigilante,’ while reporter Choi Mi Ryeo (Kim So Jin) sees Vigilante as her ticket to a successful story.
The trailer begins with Nam Joo Hyuk defeating a villain. His determined voice in the background vows to show the guy what hell looks like. In the next scene, we witness Yoo Ji Tae conducting an investigation, visibly shocked by a crime scene where the culprit wrote ‘I’m Sorry’ on the walls in blood. He labels this individual a righteous lunatic. Following this, a reporter excitedly dubs this new dark hero ‘Vigilante.’ We also catch a glimpse of Lee Joon Hyuk in the trailer, clearly impressed by ‘Vigilante.’ The trailer concludes with Nam Joo Hyuk emerging from a dark place in broad daylight, donning his earphones, and declaring,
The law has loopholes; I’ll close those loopholes myself. This is justice.
“Vigilante” made its premiere at the On Screen section of the 28th Busan International Film Festival on October 5, 2023, where three out of eight episodes were screened. The series is set to debut on Disney+ on November 8th, featuring a total of eight episodes. Subsequently, two new episodes will be released every Wednesday.
