Yeo Jin Goo may grace our screens in the upcoming historical Korean drama “Serenade.”
Presently, discussions are underway for the actor to take on the male lead role in this production helmed by the PD behind popular romantic comedies such as “Clean With Passion For Now” and “Personal Taste.”
“Serenade” is a romantic comedy mix of historical drama set in a made-up Joseon era where divorces are common. It’s about a prince who wants to leave Joseon to find happiness and a girl from a noble family who wants success in Joseon but ends up in a rocky romance while playing matchmaker for others.
Yeo Jin Goo is offered the role of Park Yeong, the main character who pretends to be jobless while hiding his true identity as a prince in the drama. Park Yeong, who left the palace at 12 after witnessing something he shouldn’t have, dreams of a new life. He meets the determined girl, Han Byeol, by chance and they start working together at an agency that promotes romance in Joseon.
Yeo Jin Goo previously starred in the Korean drama “Link: Eat Live Kill” alongside actress Moon Ga Young. If he confirms his role in this drama, it will mark his return to the small screen after a two-year hiatus. It will also be interesting to see who will be starring alongside Yeo Jin Goo in “Serenade.”
