Jung So Min (Alchemy of Souls) and Jung Hae In (D.P. 2) are set to ignite the screen as the dynamic duo in the upcoming romantic-comedy Korean drama, “Mom’s Friend’s Son.”
Both actors have secured the main lead roles, adding their charm to a storyline crafted by the talented PD and writer behind the 2021 hit Rom-Com, “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.” This collaboration marks the second venture for the accomplished PD and writer duo.
Kdrama “Mom’s Friend’s Son” will tell the story of Bae Seok Ryu, a woman who once had it all together. Known for her smarts and boundless energy, she climbed the ladder of success as a project manager in a big global company. However, one day, everything changed. Bae Seok Ryu faced a breakdown, leading her to leave her job and confront a challenging period of unemployment.
Yearning for a fresh start, Bae Seok Ryu’s journey takes an unexpected turn when she crosses paths with Choi Seung Hyo, her mother’s friend’s son. He’s the most talked-about young architect in Korea, running the renowned architecture atelier “In.” With his impressive skills, good looks, and a charming personality, Choi Seung Hyo seems to have it all.
However, beneath the surface, Choi Seung Hyo harbors moments from his past that he wishes to erase, moments often involving Bae Seok Ryu. As childhood friends linked by their mothers’ friendship, they shared innocent memories, like bathing together at a women’s bathhouse. As adults, their lives take unexpected turns, and their paths converge once more.
It is confirmed that Jung So Min will take on the role of Bae Seok Ryu, while Jung Hae In will play her childhood friend, Choi Seung Hyo.
“Mom’s Friend’s Son” is likely to release in the second half of 2024.
