A new Netflix original youth romance Kdrama has confirmed production with actors Park Bo Young, Choi Woo Sik, Lee Jun Young, and Jeon So Nee in the main cast. All four stars will work together in Netflix’s new romantic drama “Melo Movie.”
Netflix announced on the 22nd that it has confirmed production of the original series “Melo Movie” and cast Choi Woo Shik (A Killer Paradox), Park Bo Young (Daily Dose of Sunshine), Lee Jun Young (May I Help You), and Jeon So Nee (Our Blooming Youth).
According to Netflix explanation of the drama series, “Melo Movie depicts a movie-like time in which ambiguous young people who want to love and fulfill their dreams discover each other, become inspiration, and overcome trauma.”
“Melo Movie” Korean drama will tell the story of the young people used to hiding their struggles behind a brave face. Even though they want love and to chase their dreams, they feel tired from all the tough stuff they go through.
Alongside, it will also tell the fun and romantic love story of Kim Moo Bi and Go Gyeom. Kim Moo Bi follows the path of her father and goes from becoming an assistant director all the way up to a film director. One day, she meets Go Gyeom. He is an extra actor and now wants to be a movie critic, dreaming of watching every movie ever. Go Gyeom meets Kim Mo Bi on a film set and his life changes forever.
Park Bo Young is confirmed for the role of Kim Moo Bi, while Choi Woo Shik will take on the role of Go Gyeom.
Further, Lee Jung Young is confirmed to portray the role of Hong Si Joon. He is a character who acts mysterious around his friends so they don’t know he wants to be a great composer. He thinks he’s really smart and likes doing things his own special way, even if it’s a bit unusual.
Meanwhile, Jeon So Nee is taking the role of Son Joo Ah who is Go Kyum and Hong Si Joon’s friend. She’s a successful screenwriter who had a comfortable upbringing and doesn’t face many challenges in life.
“Melo Movie” is being directed by Oh Choong Hwan of “Castaway Diva” (2023), “Big Mouth” (2022), “Startup” (2020), and “Hotel Del Luna” (2019), “My Love From Star” (2013) and writer Lee Na Eun of “Our Beloved Summer” (2021) writes the screenplay.
The specific release date for “Melo Movie” has not yet been confirmed.
