A new action historical Korean drama is here and a stellar cast is ready to portray some powerful characters!
Ji Chang Wook (If You Wish Upon Me), Jeon Jong Seo (Money Heist: Korea), Lee Soo Hyuk (Tomorrow), Kim Moo Yeol (Trolley), Jung Yoo Mi (Celebrity) and Park Ji Hwan (My Lovely Boxer) all are confirmed to play the main roles in the upcoming drama.
“Queen Woo” is a historical drama set in Goguryeo kingdom. After the King’s sudden death, Queen Woo faces a crisis, her throne is in danger as 5 tribes and princes are after it. Now she needs to race against time to secure a new King within 24 hours.
The role of Queen Woo will be portrayed by Jeon Jong Seo. Queen Woo is a beautiful, intelligent and fearless woman born into a humble family, so she lacks authority, and her only support in the palace is her husband, King Go Nam Moo.
Ji Chang Wook will take the role of King Go Nam Moo. He is described as the perfect King, however, the kingdom plunges into crisis when King Go Nam Moo faces a dire situation, jeopardizing both his rule and Queen Woo’s standing.
Kim Moo Yeol will be portraying Eul Pa So, a loyal Goguryeo’s prime minister and the generalissimo of the King’s military who is torn between being loyal to the King and his thirst for power.
Jung Yoo Mi is playing Woo Soon, Queen Woo’s sister, who loses the Queen title to her younger sibling due to a pivotal choice.
Lee Soo Hyuk is Go Nam Moo’s younger brother Go Bal Ki, one of the three princes vying for the throne, and Park Ji Hwan plays Mu Gol, the royal guard leader.
The Korean drama “Queen Woo” will be a short series airing on TVING, consisting of 8 episodes scheduled for release in 2024.
