11 New Korean Dramas Coming Your Way In May 2021

We have some amazing Korean dramas coming in the month of May (2021). Most of these dramas are filled with romance whether it happens after kidnapping a princess or between two people who are actually crazy.

Not only this there are even two fantasy rom-coms releasing this May which includes actors like Seo In Guk, Park Bo Young, Jang Ki Yong and more. Jang Ki Yong and Seo In Guk will be playing their fantasy characters of Gumiho and a messenger in their respective dramas. May is really going to be an interesting month for kdrama fans.

Here is the list of all the 11 upcoming new dramas that will be premiering in May 2021.

1. Bossam – Stealing Fate

“Bossam – Steal The Fate” kdrama story is based during the reign of King Gwang Hae. There was a custom in Joseon which allowed a single man or a widower to kidnap a widow and marry her. This custom was called ‘Bossam’. Ba Woo was framed for conspiracy during his young age. This caused him to hide his identity and live a poor man life. When Ba Woo grows up, he accidentally kidnaps Gwanghae Gun’s daughter. She is a blue widow and also a princess.

“Bossam – Stealing Fate” is likely to release on 1 May 2021.

2. Youth Of May

Kdrama “Youth Of May” will tell the story of one part of the history of Korea which is set during the Gwangju Uprising in May 1980, through the youth of that time.

Hwang Hee Tae (Lee Do Hyun) is a medical student at the Seoul National University College of Medicine. He entered a top university so that he can break a stereotype that single mothers cannot raise their children well. Kim Myung Hee (Go Min Si) is an independent woman who has been working for three years away from home. She is a nurse with great skills at one of the hospital in Gwangju. Myung Hee is beautiful but as a result of her struggling life, she has become cold in nature.

“Youth Of May” is likely to release on 3 May 2021.

3. Imitation

“Imitation” will tell the stories of love and struggles of idol groups. Lee Ma Ha belongs to an unpopular ‘Tea Party’ girl group. But she is famous in her group as she looks like singer La Ri Ma. One day on a variety show Ma Ha had an unfortunate encounter with Hyuk. Kwon Ryok, a member of Shax dislikes Ma Ha. According to him, she gains popularity due to her similar looks to La Ri Ma. Later, both somehow need to do a drama together. A childhood friend of Ma Ha, Lee Yu Jin tries to keep her way from Ryuk. He also has feelings for her.

“Imitation” is likely to release on 7 May 2021.

4. Mine

“Mine” story will center around two strong and married women Seo Hee Soo and Jung Seo Hyun. They both are married in the South Korea’s most wealthy family. Having high hopes from life and wanting to break the prejudices in high society both struggles to find their true identity. Seo Hee Soo quits as an actress after she marries the second son of Hyo Won Group. But she finds it hard to adjust with her in laws, still not losing her confidence. Jung Seo Hyun is another woman who is married in the same family. She is married to their first son. Jung Seo Hyun is a very clever and intelligent women. She also belongs to a rich family.

“Mine” is likely to release on 8 May 2021.

5. Doom At Your Service

“Doom At Your Service” will tell a fantasy romance story of Tak Dong Kyung and Myeol Mang.

Tak Dong Kyung is a hard-working girl but she lives a struggling life. After her parents passed away Dong Kyung started working as a web novel editor. It has been 6 years since then, she finally feels a sense of stability in her life. However, she gets diagnosed with life-threatening disease, brain cancer. Myeol Mang is a messenger between God and humans. One day out of sadness and anger Dong Kyung curses everything in her life to disappear. Unknowingly she calls for messenger Myeol Mang to help. Both sign a contract that would grant all the wishes of Dong Kyung for 100 days.

“Move To Heaven” will tell the story of a boy named Han Geu Roo having Asperger Syndrome. It is a syndrome in which a person is not able to socialize or communicate well with people. His father runs a small business called ‘Move To Heaven’. In this they collect and arrange the items of a person who just passed away. Geu Roo also helps in his father’s business. But one day his father dies. Now his uncle Jo Sang Goo becomes his guardian and they run the business together. However, his uncle has once been in prison.

“Move To Heaven” is likely to release on 14 May 2021.

Lee So Hyun, a 20 years old girl who survives on pickpocketing others. Due to some reason she has to drop out of high school. Meanwhile, Lee Jae Young, owner of a small chicken restaurant is of warm and helpful nature. He often helps people in trouble.

“The Crazy Guy In This District” will tell the story of two people coming together who have one painful memory with them. He then meets a woman similar to him, Lee Min Kyung. Lee Min Kyung had everything in life until one day an incident caused her to become a grumpy person who doesn’t trust anyone. Somehow both starts to like each other.

“The Crazy Guy in This District” is likely to release on 24 May 2021.

9. My Roommate Is A Gumiho

“My Roommate Is A Gumiho” will tell a sweet fantasy romance story between a Gumiho and a human. Shin Woo Yoo is a Gumiho who is preparing to soon become a human. He is also a professor and is 999 years old. He is collecting the human energy inside a bead, which will later help him become a human.

Meanwhile, Lee Dam, a university student had an unfortunate encounter with Shin Woo Yeo due to her friend. Shin Woo Yeo’s precious beads falls in the mouth of Lee Dam. This is dangerous as she could die later when the bead breaks inside her body. Woo Yeo suggests her to live with him until he finds a way to take the bead back.

“My Roommate Is A Gumiho” is likely to release on 26 May 2021.

He now coaches at Haenam Middle School. His team includes some boys and girls who are weaker in the game. Despite this, Ra Young Ja decides to prepare them for the junior athletic competition.

Moo Yeol, Teacher Woo and Soo Ri also works as an assistant intern there. Meanwhile, Gwang Soo a passionate hairstylist also works at ‘Fly High’. He works with hair salon director Michel and hairstylist Jen.
